Personal Leadership Profile:

Adaptive Leadership Style

I consider myself to have an Adaptive Leadership style due to the nature of my career.

Here are the different leadership styles that I take on and how:

Charismatic/value-based leadership: Trying to inspire my students and grade 4 staff. I expect high core values from my team members as well. I would say that we as teachers in grade 4 are always self-sacrificing. Most days of the week we do not have any breaks (except for when we need to use the washroom and we have to help each other out).

Team-oriented: Always trying to find a common purpose amongst our grade team, we do team building activities and fun things at our team meetings. It's important to have your team trust you and for a leader to get to know their constituents. We are always collaborating as well. This is so important in the teaching profession and really helps take a lot of pressure off our backs when we can sit together and come up with units, lesson plans, class management ideas and ways to deal with behavioural issues (we need todistinguish if it is a school thing or if it from a past/current trauma etc.)
